PRESENTACIÓN DE "METAMACHINE" WITH RODION TROFIMCHENKO

MONDO GALERIA en colaboración con Frantic Gallery(Japón) y Bo Káo presentan por primera vez en España el proyecto colaborativo METAMACHINE en el que artistas de origen nipón cruzan su lenguaje con músicos y Djs del sello independiente berlinés ABANDONED AUDIO (un nuevo sub-label del conocido 31337 RECORDS).

METAMACHINE contiene 6 piezas compuestas al filo de la delgada línea existente entre el lenguaje visual y la música electrónica. Macoto Murayama, Aepiel(Antony Felton), Atsushi Koyama, Dawn Before Silence(Stefan Klaas), Doyeq(Sergey Kulikov, Vitaliy Bragin), Echoton(Alexander Fuß, Michael Fuß), Lenta(Rasul Gatarov), Pachyderme(Franco Bellavita) son los protagonistas de este experimento en el que la música electrónica se une al arte contemporáneo. Músicos de diferentes rincones del planeta se unen a pintores y artistas digitales japoneses para crear una experiencia audio/visual única.

Presentadas por Rodion Trofimchenko (curador de Frantic Gallery) las 6 piezas de Metamachine podrán verse en MONDO GALERIA – Bo Káo (San Rafael, Ibiza) el día Miércoles 8 de Julio a partir de las 21:30 hs, donde se generará un diálogo con el curador sobre los procesos creativos y de distribución de este proyecto.

Qué es exactamente METAMACHINE? Esta metáfora viene acarreada por la búsqueda creativa de Atsushi Koyama y su énfasis en la calidad estética de dibujos técnicos y planos de maquinaria ilustrados al óleo o en lápiz. El cuerpo humano aparece así entremezclado con mecanismos acercándonos a la Creación del Hombre Máquina (con sus guiños visuales a Leonardo Da Vinci o a la banda alemana Krafterwerk). Nos induce a otra realidad, más allá del uso y la función de los objetos para acercarnos a una dimensión externa a la realidad física y sus leyes.

A su vez Macoto Murayama combina su conocimiento de la arquitectura, la gráfica 3D y la botánica para revelar la estructura mecánica de las formas naturales dentro de sus jardines digitales de flora inorgánica. Flora y órganos sexuales de las plantas han sido desde los comienzos de la humanidad objetos de admiración en diversas épocas y culturas. Las imágenes de Macoto aparecen como planos técnicos robados a la madre naturaleza de entre sus bocetos de creación, enlazándonos a su mundo imaginario inherte a la substancia orgánica o la mecánica estructural.

A nivel musical el concepto METAMACHINE lo encontramos en la naturaleza de la relación entre el músico y la máquina, donde la máquina es dueña de cierta arbitrariedad cabalgada por DJs o músicos que fluyen a su ritmo creando una simbiosis creativa "post-humana" que sirve de puerta de acceso a un universo de fantasía inmaterial.

MONDO GALERIA in collaboration with Frantic Gallery (Japan) and Bo Káo presents for the first time in Spain the collaborative project METAMACHINE. In this project japanese visual artists work together with musicians and Djs from Berlin based independent label ABANDONED AUDIO (new sub-label of the known 31337 RECORDS).

METAMACHINE has 6 pieces componed on the thin line existing between image and sound, between visual language and electronic music. Macoto Murayama, Aepiel(Antony Felton), Atsushi Koyama, Dawn Before Silence(Stefan Klaas), Doyeq(Sergey Kulikov, Vitaliy Bragin), Echoton(Alexander Fuß, Michael Fuß), Lenta(Rasul Gatarov), Pachyderme(Franco Bellavita) are the protagonists of this experiment in wich electronic music plays along contemporary art. Musicians from different places of the world united with painters and digital artists from Japan to create a unique audio/visual experience.

What exactly is METAMACHINE? The metaphor comes from the artistic path of Atsushi Koyama, one of the participating visual artists. While emphasizing the aesthetic qualities of machines and mechanical drawings in oil paintings, Koyama merges the human body with mechanisms, creating a man-machine (similar to the notorious Tetsuo, but in a more sublimated way). As if to incorporate the beauty of the human body, Koyama’s mechanisms break away from their earthly nature. They take us to another reality, beyond utilitarian usage or function itself. Koyama’s machines act more like ‘mechanical’ (‘mecha-aesthetical’) keys to another dimension, existing outside of the physical reality and its laws.

At the same time, Macoto Murayama combines his knowledge of architecture, computer graphics and botany to reveal the mechanical structures of organic forms in his digital gardens of inorganic flora. For instance flowers, the sexual organ of a plant and object of admiration across all cultures and epochs, presented as a machine! His images appear like ‘blueprints’, seemingly stolen from the sketches that Mother Nature uses to create the organic beauty of a flower. Ultimately, Murayama’s METAMACHINEs provide us with an imaginary link to something beyond organic substance or mechanical structure.

The concept of METAMACHINEs can also be found in electronic music. This genre originally emerged from the relationship between human beings and machines, where the machine acts as a valid and independent participant to a certain degree. The result of this ‘post-human entity’ is the key to the frontiers beyond the dimension where musician and machine are present as material objects (comparable to the aforementioned visual artists). This unit itself is METAMACHINE, serving as a portal towards an immaterial field of fantasy. At this point, all of the artists come together in their intentions and here is where METAMACHINE is activated…
